It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend and fellow Hawkeye Bowmen member, Jim Newhouse.

​

Some people come into our lives and become so much more than friends or fellow club members. They become family. Jim was one of those people, and his loss leaves a space in our Hawkeye Bowmen family that will never truly be filled.

​

Jim served Hawkeye Bowmen as Vice President, Membership Chair and Traditional member, giving his time, dedication, and heart to a club that meant so much to him. His love for archery continued to grow with each passing year, as did the friendships and connections he made along the way.

​

Jim had a quick smile, a gentle demeanor, and a kind word for everyone. He had a way of making people feel welcome and cared about. He reached out to those who needed support and was always there when he could be. He never needed to be the loudest person in the room to make a lasting impression. His kindness, quiet strength, and genuine care for others spoke volumes.

​

Beyond Hawkeye Bowmen, Jim was a gifted musician and performer, leaving a legacy of song in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. He was an accomplished golfer and a member of Crag Burn Golf Club, a supporter of the arts and Buffalo sports teams, a fan of Formula 1 racing and Liverpool Soccer, and, above all, a lover of the outdoors and the Adirondacks.

His love for the outdoors was especially evident in the adventures he shared with his beloved Lynne, his darling girl of more than 50 years. The memories they made together are a testament to a life filled with love, companionship, and a shared appreciation for the beauty of the world around them.

​

Jim was so much more than his titles, talents, and interests. He was a friend, a leader, a gentleman, and a cherished part of our Hawkeye Bowmen family. The many lives he touched are a reflection of the wonderful person he was, and he will be truly missed by his many friends.

​

As we say goodbye, we are reminded that although one voice may fall silent, the songs, memories, laughter, and kindness left behind continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

​

To Lynne and all of Jim's family and loved ones, please know that you are in our thoughts and hearts. We share in your sorrow and hope you find comfort in the love and memories that surround you.
